Review on iSPeakApp.com: "Naming TherAppy raises word retrieval apps to a whole new level. It felt like a mini-Christmas morning that day we finally downloaded the app and ran it. Naming TherAppy is a one-of-a-kind app that has a specific audience and a specific set of goals in mind, and is obviously designed so well that we could not find anything remotely lacking in it. Apps like these makes one wonder if Apple and Steve Jobs specifically had the special population in mind when they released their iOS devices. Whether they actually did or not, Naming TherAppy took everything that technology has to offer and streamlined it to meet the needs of individuals with word retrieval difficulties."
Review on theiMum.com: "Overall, Naming TherAppy is easy to use and very well-designed. The pictures that Tactus Therapy uses for their apps are also one of the best I've seen. Two of the activities, Naming Practice and Describe, are great strategies to use with children of all ages who have an expressive language delay and they can be used repeatedly over time to achieve better descriptive language. This is definitely an app to download if you're working on this area with your child. ..I especially like the verbs and adjectives which are now included with the recent update! These are essential for a child's vocabulary yet we don't find many apps teaching these."
Review by Joan Green of Innovative Speech Therapy: "I spend a great deal of time trying out new Apple apps- and currently have over 900. There are very few apps which are created specifically to help adults who have aphasia. Tactus Therapy Solutions has recently released two which are wonderful! I find myself using them daily in therapy with adults as well as children who have a wide variety of language learning challenges. They are a great extension to traditional speech therapy techniques and make it much easier for families to practice at home with guidance about the most appropriate way to configure the apps. They each cost $24.99 and are well worth it! Naming TheAppy - This app is very helpful for children and adults who have word retrieval challenges. So far I find myself using the "naming practice" mode the most. "
Comments from the wife of a stroke survivor on the new updates to Naming TherAppy: "A real plus. I have begun putting pictures of family members in under a family category. Plan to also add a friend and neighbor grouping which will really help my hubby in the naming process. Tactus Therapy ....... You are all a blessing. Thank you for all your hard work and efforts. This newest update has all kinds of possibilities." - via Facebook

★★★★★ Great!!! This is a fantastic and very practical application! I have not only used it with my adult clients but with children with special needs as well. It has replaced flashcards I would normally use to teach vocabulary and encourage one word utterances. I've also used the 'describe' section as questions for my fluency clients to answer while practicing their fluency strategies. This app is well worth it!
★★★★★ What an outstanding therapy tool. My adult medical clients are in love with this app. It makes them "Appy" as it is so user-friendly and extremely motivating. My clients just have to simply touch the screen and the magic happens.
★★★★★ Great app! Wow! Now I don't have to lug around dozens of cue cards! Love the interface. One request. Please add more nouns! Thanks!
★★★★★ Excellent! This app has been such an asset to my home-care patients with aphasia! They love the pictures and it is definitely a benefit not to carry around loads of picture cards.
★★★★★ This app has proven to be very helpful for multiple children on my caseload who have difficulty using expanded descriptive language. The visual supports are subtle but available when needed. I especially appreciate the functional vocabulary and how it is divided into categories. This is a nicely organized and professionally developed app that I'm glad I added to my tool box.
★★★★★ My wife had a stroke March 2011 and has moderate-severe expressive aphasia. This app is quite good for helping her recover her speech. It is professionally done and is easy to use. The price is reasonable. We use the naming practice which has the option of cueing words by having the user complete a sentence, showing the first letter, spelling the word, describing the word, and sounding the beginning of the word. It has a substantial list of nouns. The user can select one or more categories to work on at the same time. You really cannot get enough professional SLP hours on most insurance. NamingTherapy enables a non-professional to provide additional support for recovery.
★★★★★ So great! I used this app with one of my clients with aphasia to target word finding. I loved it! It was engaging for her, and I love all the prompts that are available!
★★★★★ This app is an excellent resource for SLPs working with adults with aphasia who want to utilize materials other than paper flash cards! It will also be helpful for patients/families who have an iPhone/iPad and want to continue this app for their home exercise program. Awesome that an SLP is finally creating useful apps for therapy. Keep up the good work!
